A few days ago, Wendy contacted me ahead of her trip from Mexico City to visit us here in Playa del Carmen. She was super excited about doing a flying dress shoot, but what made this project an amazing challenge was the reason behind it: she explained that she is going to hire a painter to create a custom artwork based on one of the photos I took. Honestly, I felt a little bit of pressure, but I was so pumped because it’s the first time one of my captures will be turned into a painting.
She chose the Deluxe package, so we went with the blue and red dresses. For this session, my colleague Hernán Santiago joined us as second camera. I respect him so much and he has an absolute eye for this, always delivering incredible shots. We also had Majo, our trusted assistant, keeping everything running smoothly and helping Wendy with whatever she needed.
Wendy brought along her friend Leo, who was such a great guy to have around. He was cheering her on the entire time to help her feel comfortable, and he even captured some spectacular behind-the-scenes phone photos of our team working. We absolutely loved that he did that for us.
The funniest part was that, even though Wendy had never modeled before and this was her first-ever photoshoot, she loosened up so quickly. Whenever we tried to capture a more editorial or sexy vibe, she just couldn’t stop smiling. It brought so much joy to the whole team because we could tell she was having the time of her life.
In the end, even though her package originally included 30 images, I sent her a pre-selection gallery of 90 photos, and she loved them so much she decided to keep them all! It was a true pleasure meeting someone with such a great energy, and she even shared a few helpful tips on how we can keep improving our service. I truly hope she remembers this experience for the rest of her life and that we get to be a part of another milestone in her future.
