Every photoshoot tells a story, but occasionally a client walks onto the beach with a creative vision that raises the bar for our entire team. When Wendy reached out to us from Mexico City ahead of her trip to Playa del Carmen, she had an extraordinary goal in mind: she wasn’t just looking for vacation memories; she was searching for the exact reference photo to commission a custom fine art painting.
Knowing that one of our frames would soon be interpreted with brushstrokes on canvas brought an exciting artistic challenge to the morning. We set out to create pure visual poetry.
Wendy chose our Deluxe Package, pairing two of our most dramatic and vibrant silhouettes: Royal Blue and Classic Red.
Against the open shoreline, these two colors created an intense, dynamic palette. The deep blue mirrored the depth of the morning tide, while the rich crimson red provided a striking, painterly contrast that immediately felt worthy of a museum canvas.
For this session, I was joined by my talented colleague Hernán Santiago as second camera, whose instinct for candid angles always elevates the final gallery. Our trusted assistant Majo was right beside Wendy, ensuring every sweep of the long silk train caught the morning breeze effortlessly.
Wendy also brought along her good friend Leo, who quickly became an honorary member of our crew. Having someone familiar cheering from the sidelines makes all the difference—Leo kept Wendy relaxed, kept the energy light, and even snapped incredible behind-the-scenes moments of our team in action.
This was Wendy’s very first professional photoshoot, and like many first-timers, she initially felt a little unsure of what to expect. We attempted a few serious, high-fashion editorial poses, but Wendy’s natural warmth took over—every time the shutter clicked, she broke into a radiant, unstoppable laugh.
That genuine, unscripted happiness became the true signature of her session. When a client forgets the camera is there and simply lives in the moment, the images stop being poses and become authentic memories.
While the Deluxe Package typically includes 30 fully edited high-resolution images, when we finished curating the morning’s work, the pre-selection gallery held 90 breathtaking frames. When Wendy saw the results, she couldn’t bring herself to leave any behind, she decided to keep all 90 photos!
