For many, turning 50 is a time for reflection. For Sophia, a talented professional chef and catering business owner from Texas, famous back home for her incredible Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas, it was the perfect excuse to embark on a brave new adventure: her very first solo trip to a destination where she didn’t know a single soul.
Sophia chose Playa del Carmen to celebrate this incredible milestone, and she wanted to freeze this moment in time with our Deluxe Flying Dress Package.
Sophia confessed to us that some of her friends had previously tried a flying dress experience in Greece and didn’t really enjoy it. Naturally, there was a bit of hesitation. On top of that, as a high-end chef, Sophia is a self-proclaimed perfectionist. She mentioned how her mind is always running a mile a minute, often making it hard for her to just step back and simply exist in the moment.
But from the moment we started prepping her two stunning choices, the Emerald Green and Hot Pink dresses, all that pressure melted away.
Joined once again by my talented colleague Hernán Santiago as second camera and our wonderful assistant Majo, we focused on making Sophia feel completely pampered, relaxed, and celebrated. The session turned into an afternoon filled with laughter, movement, and genuine joy.
The highlight of the experience came afterward. When Sophia saw the behind the scenes videos we captured, she was deeply moved to see herself genuinely laughing and letting go. For a perfectionist, capturing that raw, unscripted happiness is the ultimate reward. She told us this shoot became one of the absolute highlights of her entire trip.
We are beyond thrilled that Sophia chose us to be part of her 50th birthday milestone. The best part? She loved the experience so much that she is already planning to return at the end of the year, this time bringing her friends along to share the magic.
